About Us

A qualified member of the Institute of Budget Management and Administration (IBMA) will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between Budgeting and Budgetary control
  • Identify the fundamentals of budgeting
  • Understand and place budget planning, management and administrative procedures within a wider context of accountability and financial disciplines.

THE INSTITUTE MAIN OBJECTIVES

The Institute Main Objectives are to:

Promote and Develop

Promote and develop the science of budget management

Professional Organization

Provide a professional organization for budget managers and administrators

Test Skills and Knowledge

Test the skill and knowledge of those wishing to enter the profession

Conducting Research

Conduct research and publish the results

Data Security

To conduct trainings, seminars, conferences, symposiums on issues relating to budget management, administration, leadership and financial management and control.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the Institute is obtainable only by examination and by satisfying other conditions as to experience and character.

In order to register as a student with the Institute, an applicant must satisfy the Council that he/she:

REQUIREMENT 1

Has a University or Professional qualification recognized for this purpose by the Council or


REQUIREMENT 2


Has passed ND or HND of a Polytechnic or NCE from College of    Education or

REQUIREMENT 3

Has passed General Certificate of Education (GCE), National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) O/A Level or other recognized bodies.
